Thank you so much for our 3rd LIVE at Botchy Botchy in Chigasaki! “Botchy Botchy” in the Kansai dialect means “Bumbai…” which in Hawaiian pidgin basically means “in sweet time…” No hurrying, just living it out and enjoying life! That’s what our last LIVE on June 21, 2026 was like!

Singing to songs like the all-popular “Sing” by the Carpenters and old rock classics like “If” by Bread, we made it a point to include our audience in our performance with L-O-V-E and Les Champs Élysée.

We have so much more to go to make our sound as happy as we feel, but I think our humble audience of 18 enjoyed themselves for a casual night out with friends and 2 goofy musicians!

今回は「ぼちぼち」ライブハウス＆バーは3回目のライブでした。名の通り、皆様がリラックスで見てくれてた感じ、「L〜O〜V~E」、「シャンゼリゼ〜」など参加型の歌を含む、色々のジャンルの歌を歌わせていただきました。カーペンターズの「シング」、70年代のクラッシックバラード「イフ」などで新曲も友だち作のオリジナル曲２曲も挑戦してみました〜！

この下にビデオも載せてみたので、よかったらご覧になってください。音楽の技術としてはまだまだですが、ハッピーな気持ちが伝わればと思って、今回も頑張りました！

ありがたいことに、今年の地域の長寿会に演奏の依頼が来ました。楽しいひと時で、感謝の気持ちいっぱいです。どのメンバーもとても元気なおじさまとおばさまで、SunnySmiles と気持ちよく歌ってくれて何よりです！
このようなイベントがあるからこそたくさん練習して、音楽を提供する会があります！「たのしかった！」という声もいただいて、ミホも三つもるんるん気分で帰れましたよ！

Hello! Sunny Smiles spent an afternoon at a local afterschool program to welcome the new first-graders into the program. As Japan starts its new school year in April, we were happy to see how excited and energetic the kids were as they got adjusted to their new worlds! The kids were LOUD and great! It’s a good thing we brought our amps with us!

こんにちは！

5月にサニースマイルズは地元の学童で新一年生の歓迎ミニコンサートをしに駆けつけました！ご存知の通り、日本の学年は4月にスタートするので、新しい世界で楽しんでいる様子が見れて嬉しかったです。スピーカーを持ってきて良かった！😅

I (Mitz) was practicing at a local park the other day and was delighted to be recognized by a second grader who participated in the May mini concert! It was a great conversation starter. We spent the next hour singing and talking at the park. She introduced me to her mother who was sitting nearby and happened to speak great English! I made new friends! That is always great!

ミッツ（帽子のおばちゃん）近くの公園んで練習していたら、なんと学童で参加していた子に声をかけられ、会話のきっかけになりました！😀一緒に歌って、お喋りして、楽しかったです。彼女は近くに座っていた👩お母さんにも紹介してくれて、（なんと！）そのお母さんはネイティブレベルの英語で喋り出して、びっくり！良い出会いがあって、何より嬉しいです！

Thank you everyone for joining us at Chigasaki City Hall Square for Lily’s Garden Market. Miho, Mitz, and the lovely ladies with Hau’oli Malie Hula (led by Hula instructor, Leco Yamaguchi) had a wonderful time singing and dancing hula in the warm Spring sun!

茅ヶ崎市役所前のリリーズ・ガーデン・マーケットで今年も楽しく参加できました。ハウオリ・マリエ・フラの皆様とリーダーの山口レコ先生でたくさんのハワイアン🌺を歌って、踊りました。

Ritz Yamashina, for welcoming us and allowing us to share our music midst his incredible works of art; Shinobu Ohno for sharing her beautiful voice and romantic samba sounds, and LECO, our hula teacher who came to mesmerize us with her beautiful Hawaiian hula dancing. 

素敵な友達、木の実のお客様、アーティストの皆様のおかげでとても楽しいライブイベントにすることができました。画家の山科律さん（RITZ)、素敵なリッツワールドに囲まれてSunnySmilesの演奏をさせていただきました。私たちのライブの合わせて「ステージ」のバックに美しい海岸の絵をわざわざ飾ってくださったり、感謝です！フラのパフォーマンスにピッタシな背景！

Miho and I have been learning hula bit by bit at the park for about a year now. Called HulaReiki, it is a casually session that combines the power of energy and the beauty of dance to get in touch with our bodies under the blue skies. Leco’s bright, gentle presence through her beautiful dancing added a new dimension to our playing! It was quite magical for us, and i could sense the audience being so mesmerized by her dance! 

美穂とミッツはこの一年、少しずつ公園の青空の下で「フラレイキ」と言うクラスに参加し始めて、その先生が今回のライブにわざわざ踊りに来てくれました。レコ先生の明るくて、優しい踊りで自然そのものを表して、私たちの曲のより深い演奏にしてくれて、魔法のような感じでした。（観客も彼女の踊りに見惚れているのも感じました！）
